About clinton

My name is Clinton Graham and I am running for the next State Representative of the 7th Norfolk District (Milton, Randolph) and I would love your support.

I am a lifelong Milton resident and graduate of Milton Public Schools. After completing high school in town, I completed a Post Graduate year at Worcester Academy and earned a full scholarship to Stony Brook University, where I graduated with a degree in psychology.  After my college years I was living and working as a professional athlete abroad for 5 months out of the year; returning to my home in Milton after every season.

My family history starts with growing up learning about my parents’ Jamaican heritage in addition to learning about my wife’s Ireland heritage. As the child of immigrant parents, I understand the struggles faced by many people seeking the American Dream. Growing up one of five children, I had a front row seat and watched my parents endure the challenges of living and constantly working to make it in America.  I watched my mother work as a social worker in many local hospitals and my father in transportation.  Though they experienced the occasional vacation, life for them was not easy.  Working this hard took a toll on my mother’s health and I lost her early to illness. I will never forget the lessons she taught me; like always work hard, stay focused, and be strong no matter what I may face.

I carried my mother’s lessons and values with me throughout my life. These values and lessons were reinforced in my professional career and life abroad. I learned that true empathy, communication, and civility are the best ways to attain desired goals.  As the father of a two-year-old daughter, I am even more aware of my duty to ensure that all children are able to experience the promise of a quality education like I had; and more.

Over the years I have worked in law enforcement, as well as having been actively involved in town government.  These overall experiences allowed me to obtain leadership skills which I plan to utilize to address the challenges faced by many Milton and Randolph residents.

I have served four years on the Warrant Committee, 7 years as a Milton Delegate of the Milton Democratic Committee; 2 of those years as Vice Chair, and after hearing of the unfortunate event that took place at the home of a Milton Police Officer, founded The Diversity and Justice Coalition in 2021; to address those concerns.  Fortunately, I know my way around town government as I have been involved in town politics, as well as state government as a correctional officer; which will benefit our town by expediting information.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, are priorities for the advancement of our community. As a State Representative, I will live out the motto that “Diversity is Our Strength.” The experiences I have had growing up in Milton, connecting with people from various backgrounds and beliefs, as well as my experience as a law enforcement officer, compels me to put that to use, and serve as a member of the Legislature. I will focus on effective communication and transparency while serving, so that residents will be able to have more information, opportunities to be notified and engage in upcoming events.

I will continue to create opportunities for more affordable housing and ensure through legislation that state funded positions throughout Milton and Randolph are proportionally representative of the demographics of this town.
